The Festival of India (aka Ratha-Yatra) kicks off with the ever popular Parade down Yonge St and continues celebrations over on Centre Island for the weekend.

An expected crowd of over 40,000 people will line the streets and participate in the weekend festivities. The festival is open to the public and is FREE for everyone (except for ferry across to island – info below!).


July 13 (11:00 am – 2:00 pm):  Parade is ONLY on the Saturday.
Starts at Yonge & Asquith (near Toronto Reference Library),  proceeds down Yonge Street, ending at Queens Quay [Route]


July 13-  July 14:  Toronto Centre Island
Highlights include:

  • Massive, outdoor tented pavilion
  • music, dance, & drama performances
  • South Asian Bazaar
  • outdoor yoga festival – Yoga Meltdown
  • Bhakti Cloud; a fun-filled/educational children’s area incl. yoga for children
